DATA ANALYST ROLE

WomenWork is seeking a passionate Data Analyst for a fixed project timeline to join our high-functioning team. You’ll bridge the gap between our technical and non-technical teams, spending time cleaning and analyzing data and creating explanatory visuals and descriptive reports.

The Data Analyst will work closely with the co-founders and the rest of the senior management team to extract value from our data using advanced analytical methods and tools, turning it into actionable insights that will inform business decisions.

About You

You are passionate about business intelligence and committed to transforming raw data into readable, goal-driven reports for continued innovation and growth of WomenWork product offerings. You are highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including data mining, generation, and visualization.

Objectives of the role

  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytical systems, taking complicated data and building simple frameworks to interpret it.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of our various data sets.
  • Develop a unified dashboard with inputs from social media and website/app data.
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning our data
  • Provide recommendations for integrations of tools that will increase user engagement across all our platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full lifecycle analysis of the WW database and design strategies and interventions to improve data collection processes.
  • Work  with the software development team to design data requirements for our digital products and the required reporting capabilities.
  • Work with the project team to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
  • Proactively analyze data to derive insights into business performance drivers and report on findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combinations of methods and tools to ensure optimal scalability and performance of our platforms.
  • Create a unified live database with a unique identifier, merging data from our email lists, websites, social media channels and other sources, ensuring our data evaluation process is more flexible and scalable across data sets.
  • Capture and analyze weekly and monthly incoming data from program initiatives both in quantitative and qualitative form and provide appropriate reports.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Technical expertise in building data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources for a unified database
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc.)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

FULL STACK DEVELOPER ROLE

About You

You will be a member of the technical duo of skilled full-stack developers responsible for the architectural design and development of the platforms supporting the WomenWork team to make technology decisions that shape current and future developments. You have experience developing large scalable solutions across a breadth of different platforms and technologies.

About the Project 

As a team, you will work collaboratively and iteratively on front-end design and back-end development to deliver fully functioning web-based and mobile applications;

  1. An application submission portal to receive and store application information from an online competition. The portal will integrate into and interface with other third-party software.
  1. Revamp the WomenWork website and build a WomenWork Digital Platform (Web-based and mobile app) that connects women entrepreneurs and professionals to one another.

Developer’s Responsibilities 

The developers will support the full software development life-cycle, from conception to deployment. They should be comfortable with both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries with a knack for visual design and utility.

They will be responsible for;

  • Designing client-side and server-side architecture
  • Building the front-end application submission portal and the WomenWork digital platform through appealing visual design
  • Building web-applications with mobile responsive design
  • Write effective APIs that integrate with third-party tools and off-shelf software for the Application Portal and the Digital Platform (i.e Grant Management Software, E-Learning Software, Payment Gateways)
  • Perform alpha and beta testing to ensure user-responsiveness and efficiency
  • Work with cyber security analyst to perform penetration testing and ensure data protection and security
  • Work with data scientists/analysts to develop reporting dashboards
  • Develop and maintain all necessary user documentation, FAQs, and application documentation.
  • Monitor use of the applications through analytics including downloads by users, interpreting user’s behavior to monitor the needs of the applications and identify areas of improvement.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
  • 6-8 years of experience in software development, including leading a dev team and a project workstream
  • Experience applying agile frameworks and methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LSD, and FDD
  • Experience working with multiple programming and markup languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, and Python, and paradigms such as object-oriented-, event-driven, procedural, functional, and declarative programming
  • Deep knowledge of Data Tools: MySQL Database, Oracle, PostgreSQL,
  • Strong application development of mobile programming: SMS, USSD, IVR, Android, IOS and Windows programing
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles
  • Experience working in cloud-native environments
  • Preferred Competency in UX/UI principles and practices
  • Deep understanding of web performance and optimization
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully understanding the business requirements and designing realistic, effective and scalable solutions.  Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks
